Something that I really payed attention to as we read Macbeth, was the use of motifs to signify important things. The motif that stood out to me the most was the one about hands. That really stood out to me, because the actions that Macbeth committed all occurred with the use of his hands. For instance, murder, he stabbed someone, using his hands. The people crowned him king after the death of Duncan, using their hands. Lady Macbeth couldn't get the blood off of her hands. There were many things that happened using people's hands and their actions really effected the story.
I think that we should focus on this motif, because it's such a major one in my opinion. If Macbeth didn't have any hands, he probably wouldn't have turned out to be such a bad person. So from this motif, I think it's fair to say that you control your actions. No matter what the situation is, you have control over the actions that you perform. As for Macbeth, I think he should've thought out some of those action a bit more, but in the end, he didn't and, sadly, he was killed.

Macbeth Quote.
“I fear
Thou play’dst most foully for it.”
I chose this quote, because it was one of the first, of many, flaws in Macbeth's plan. Banquo is the one speaking this quote, and since he was with Macbeth when the witches gave them their prophecies, he knows that Macbeth will be become king one day. So, of course he becomes suspicious when Duncan dies, and Macbeth is next in line for the throne. Then, all because of this simple line, he dies. Macbeth must've wanted the throne really badly, considering he proceeded to kill his best friend. Well, then Banquo dies, because Macbeth doesn't want him going around telling on him, and it's just not a good thing in my opinion.
Personally, in the beginning of the book I don't think the witches should have told them their prophecies, because if you were told you'd be king one day, you wouldn't wait around for fate to make it happen, you'd be tempted to go out and make it happen yourself. So ultimately, Macbeth has been going through with these terrible deeds for the simple fact that he wants the throne, which he thinks he rightly deserves.

Quotes - Agree or Disagree.
5. Women are more compassionate and less violent than men.
After reading the first few scenes of Macbeth, and then meeting Lady Macbeth, I kind of have no choice but to agree with this statement. She is the one who comes up with the plan to kill Duncan, so that Macbeth will be able to gain the throne quicker. The whole reason that she is the one to have to formulate this plan in the first place is because Macbeth is way too nice a guy to actually kill a person. In the text, he tells how he won't be able to look when he sees it, but Lady Macbeth on the other hands easily describes how she wants the evil within her to grow onto her husband. So going back to that quote, Lady Macbeth is extremely passionate about doing whatever it takes to help her husband gain the throne, but Macbeth is not a violent person, and isn't too happy to do this to Duncan.
7. Some things are destined or fated to happen.
Well.. this quote pretty much describes the whole novel. The witches came to Macbeth and Banquo, and told them how they will each become royalty one day (Banquo's children will be royal as well). Essentially, the witches told these two men what would happen in their future. Now problems arise because, instead of just sitting back and letting their fates occur, they decide that they should act on their fates, to make them happen faster. Not a great idea. So of course, their fate is to gain the throne, but at the same time their fate is to be eager, and sort of act in the wrong manner (this is what the witches left out).

Ferris Wheel.
Your seatbelt is fastened, you're in your compartment
The ride lurches to a start carrying you along
Higher and higher as if you're a kite
The pier overlooks the ocean, blue as a
Cloudless sky
You're getting higher and higher, anxiously awaiting the view
Then you're at the top,
Everything is laid out, like a map, before your eyes
You see everyone roaming the boardwalk, tiny as ants
Picking up on faint screams from the roller coaster
Peacefulness slowly engulfs you
Then, you slowly start to leave this happy place
You start to go lower and lower, leaving your serenity behind
Your ants become bigger, the screams get louder
The compartment door is opened, greeting you with the next riders

Analyzing Songs.
So for my analyzing, I chose Drops of Jupiter by Train.
This song is written in a way, to where you get a sense of someone embarking on an adventure in life. There were many types of methods used to try and get this across. First, their was the diction that was used. "Now that she's back from that soul vacation Tracing her way through the constellation". This gets across to me pretty well that the subject of the song, obviously went on some type of adventure. But, as you listen to it more, you kind of realize that it's not a simple adventure, it's like a life journey. "Did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there" Now this line, tells me that it was a journey for finding one's self. So in a way, these can be seen as being symbols within this "journey".
"Now that she's back in the atmosphere""Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day""And did you fall for a shooting star". All of these can be seen as symbols, for things that happen to people, while they go through life. Coming back home after a journey, trying something that you've always wanted to do, falling in love with someone. It is all apart of life, and I think that these references can be seen as symbols towards what we go through in life.

Research Paper.
When I first started to write my paper, I was kind of lost, but after watching Dr. D's video, it got a little easier. I'm a little worried about how and where to incorporate quotes into my paper, and when they'd help make my paper stronger. Something I'm concerned about, is the amount of information I should be including. For instance, one of my paragraphs is has lots of examples on a specific topic, but I don't know if I should be limiting my examples. Or if I should be limiting the basic information load in my paper. So with that being said, I think I'd need help with trying to figure out where to place all of these things so my paper flows, I don't want it to jumble up like a ship wreck.
Some things that were hard for me was trying to figure out how to word my outline, but I think I got the hang of it after a while. It was just plainly hard for me trying to put the paper together from my outline, to my paper. Overall, wording everything to make it flow was probably the biggest problem I had in this process.

SNEAUX week free post.
Well, the past week has been a pretty great one. I remember the week before, I'd been guess-timating about when the next break would come along, and then BOOM this happens. I was pretty grateful to Mother Nature, to say the least. Over the break, we had virtual school, and it was pretty manageable for me. Plus every "virtual school day" I was allowed to sleep in, which was a god given gift. Whenever I wasn't working, I could be found getting caught up on shows, or just reading. The subject that took up most of my time would probably have to be English, because of our research paper. I did a lots of work on it, and still have a bit of tweaking to add to it.
I think the coolest part about our snow days off, was how the teachers made video presentations. It actually helped, with being able to watch the presentation, take notes, and then go and do your work. In terms of going back to full five day weeks, I'm not really looking forward to it.. but I'll survive.

Explaining My Topic.
In your first paragraph, explain your research topic and preliminary findings to a friend (or sibling, parent, etc.).
So, I'm doing this project in school, and it's basically me finding a topic that falls under the theme of rights and responsibilities. Now my topic is based on the Civil Rights Movement. I have to research this topic thoroughly, and kind of narrow it down so that it isn't to broad of a topic. I know it sounds, and it is, complicated. So I narrowed mine down to segregation in the south (Alabama seems to be the best location); Public Transportation, Voting Rights, and Basic Social Equality. It was difficult narrowing my choices down, but I was able to choose these three, because they cover the points that I want to get across to any chosen audience. So the project guidelines say that I have to have a final project, and on that part I'm still trying to decide. But, this is basically what I have to do for my project.
explain your topic again more formally, like you might in a paper or a formal class presentation.
For my NHD project, I chose to focus on the Civil Rights Movement. Now not the whole entire movement, but mainly three specific aspects of it, that I found to be most important. Once I narrowed my topic down, I ended up with a thesis: Transportation, Education, and Basic Social Equality were some of the main focuses when it came to what were big priorities during this time, that influenced the Civil Rights Movement to start. I chose these three, because they manage to capture important parts of the movement within them. I also find the events that occurred within these categories to be very interesting, so I guess that's just a plus to my topic. Now there's the process of choosing a final project to use, for presenting your project. Making videos always interested me, so that may just be my final project selection, but then again I haven't decided yet.

Research.
For my topic, it's kind of focused loosely on the Civil Rights Movement. This topic has interested me a lot, and I think the studying on it in that we did in seventh grade helped to further that interest. What I chose to focus on is how it started, and the simple rights that people were fighting for during this time. For instance, the equality on a simple bus ride, or trying to get the approval to vote in an election. There are so many things that occurred during this movement that have to do with the project's topic, but I have to go through the difficult process of narrowing down my topic.
One thing that I know I'm definitely focusing on is that march to Selma, which ended in police officers brutally beating the marchers who refused to turn around and go back where they came from. Rosa Park is another story that I know would go perfectly with my topic. I just think it's gonna be hard for me trying to figure out what to focus on and what not to.

Itty Bitty Kennedy.
Hey there Kennedy,
Wow aren't you different. So I heard you needed some guidance, so I'll give you a few pointers. School can be a nuisance sometimes, but you will learn to tolerate it. Try to stay out of all that drama that surrounds you at school, you'll be happier without all of that weighing down on you. In general, surround yourself with people who make you happy, you know the ones who make you laugh so hard that your sides ache. Oh and stop arguing with your parents, it's pointless, you lose every single time.
As you get older, you may be intrigued by many new pursuits. Try your best to pursue those, you don't wanna regret ignoring those when you get older. Your family might annoy every single organ in your body sometimes, but they only do it because they love you. You're also gonna lose some friends, but the new ones that come are the best, trust me. In terms of style.. you'll learn little one, you'll learn. And Facebook is not going to be that cool forever, enough said. Lastly, If you ever feel down just keep faking happiness until you get to the real thing. (:
